COVID-19 Update – June 13, 2020

Dear Church Family,

The province of BC has moved into Phase 2 of the restart plan concerning COVID 19.  We have prayerfully considered reopening church services as we all have a desire to get together and worship our Saviour together.  Our first in-person service will be on Sunday June 21, 2020 (Father’s Day) with guidelines and safety measures in place to minimize chance of spread.

In order to abide by the provincial regulations, we will need to keep our attendance to under 50 people per service.  Measures will be in place to allow contactless entry into the church, ensuring families/individuals are seated in the sanctuary at least 2 metres apart and providing hand sanitizer.

To ensure the attendance stays under 50, we ask everyone that would like to attend our services, to please contact Linda Peter at 604-819-7234 to be added to the attendance list.  She will be coordinating and contacting those who will be able to attend each service to ensure that we comply with the provincial regulations and that people’s attendance is evenly distributed so we all can join in.

If you are ill, have a cough, sore throat or difficulty breathing, please refrain from coming to the services.  If you are unsure whether to attend, it is best to err on the side of caution and stay home until you are feeling better.  We want to ensure the physical, emotional and spiritual health of our members and the community as a whole.

If you have any questions regarding the churches’ reopening plan please contact Pastor Ryan or one of the church board members.

Sincerely,

Chilliwack Church of God Board & Pastor Ryan

COVID-19 Update – March 27, 2020

Dear Church Family,

We would like to provide you with an update regarding church gatherings in light of the ongoing Covid-19 virus outbreak. In keeping with the recommendations of Canadian health officials, we will not be holding any church gatherings for the foreseeable future. The board along with Pastor Ryan will be monitoring the situation and if the situation changes, respond accordingly.

We will continue to provide live streaming for the Sunday Worship Service at 10:30 am and Wednesday Prayer Meeting at 7:30 pm. Pastor Ryan and Sis.Stefanie will be out of self isolation on April 1st. It is our intention that starting Wednesday he will be at church to lead the live streamed services.

A number of you have asked how you can continue to support the church financially during this time. We have decided to make two options available. If you would like to donate electronically, please send an e-transfer to [email protected]. Auto deposit has been set up so that any e-transfers to this e-mail will automatically be deposited into the church bank account. For those of you that would like to donate with cash or cheque, we will be providing pick up at your home on the first and third Sunday of each month in the afternoon. This will be starting April 5th. If you would like to schedule a pickup, please call or text David Seida anytime at 604-316-2672 before that Sunday morning. The pickup will be by two individuals from the board or church auditors. Every effort will be made to follow social distancing guidelines.

We have heard of numerous efforts of our church family reaching out to each other. We would like to encourage all to continue to stay in touch. Let us continue to pray for each other and that Gods love and peace surrounds all of us during this time.

Sincerely,

Chilliwack Church of God Board & Pastor Ryan

Special Announcement regarding COVID-19 from the Church Board

Dear Church Family,

As most of you likely know, BC as well as Canadian health officials have recently implemented guidelines and procedures to help curb the potential spread of the Coronavirus in Canada. As a church we have a responsibility to support the government in their efforts insofar as they do not contradict our faith. We also have a responsibility to our community and all that attend.

As a board we want to take the right course of action. After much prayer and consideration and in light of the above, we have reached the following decision. Effective immediately there will be no gathering in the church building until March 31st.  We will be reviewing the situation weekly and providing updates as they become available.

Our intention is to continue to provide Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services that will be available via live stream from our website. These will take place at the regular times. We invite you to join via the website.

Although this is a challenging time, God will help us through it. Let us support each other as a church family. Let us stay in touch, pray for each other and share the love of Jesus without fear and anxiety. Please pray for health care workers on the front lines and our government officials.

If you are in need of any assistance in any way, please let us know. We are a family and want to be here for each other. In addition if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact one of the board members.

Sincerely,

Chilliwack Church of God Board
